Glasnik Matice srpske was published periodically until 1949 in one or two B5 signatures. A total of 12 volumes were published in three years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt-ind\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The concept of Glasnik Matice srpske of the time was to publish the annual reports of Matica Srpska and institutions that were founded by Matica, give information about new publications of Matica Srpska and literary evenings that had taken place. Apart from these, there was a short commercial section publishing ads of renowned craftsmen and factories such as Korzo confectioners shop, Drvopromet crate factory, City Magazine and so forth. The last issue was published on the 29th of November 1949. After that information about the work of Matica Srpska and related institutions was occasionally published in Letopis Matice srpske and later in Rad Matice srpske published once a year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt-ind\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new series of Glasnik Matice srpske was published some sixty years later. The decision behind it was made by the Executive Board of Matica Srpska, based on the proposal of Du\u0161an Nikoli\u0107, PhD secretary general, at a meeting on the 19th of May 2008. The periodical was established to give full information about the work of the oldest cultural and scientific institution of the Serbian people to its associates as well as to the general public. The periodical publishes short information about everyday activities of honorees, scientific associates and staff of Professional Services of Matica Srpska, the Library of Matica Srpska, the Gallery of Matica Srpska and the Publishing Center of Matica Srpska. The Glasnik Matice srpske features a retrospective of events that took place in the month prior to publishing as well as announcements of events in the forthcoming month. Occasionally, thematic contributions are published with extensive texts on important activities and notable individuals. The back cover of Glasnik Matice srpske features the latest publications of Matica Srpska and its institutions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"txt-ind\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">As opposed to the periodical in the first series, Glasnik Matice srpske is published once a month, in the volume of one to two A4 signatures. Texts are framed in two columns, with photographs and other graphic additions in full color on quality paper.
